Kapa Haka Exchange with Stoke School

Yesterday Stoke School came to our school for a Kapa Haka exchange. Our kapa haka groups performed for each other. Both schools sounded great. We buddied up with two children from Stoke School and had a shared lunch. After lunch we played with them. It was great fun and we met some new friends!

Giornata Italiana! - Italian Day!

Yesterday we had an Italian day. We all dressed in green, white and red. We had an Italian day because the Italian rugby team is based here in Nelson. We were also raising money for a new St John ambulance. Each class made a different Italian food for our shared lunch. We got face paint and we each brought along three dollars. The day was great and the food was delicious.

Cross Country

"Go!!!!" said Declan. They all started running. On Wednesday, we had Ranzau school cross country. It was really fun watching everyone running and trying their hardest. The first group that ran was the 5 year olds they ran half a lap and so did the 6 year olds. The 7 & 8 year olds ran one lap. The year 9, 10 & 11 year olds ran two laps. It was an awesome day and we had lots of fun!

Year 6 Camp: Abseiling

I feed the rope into the figure 8, tying not to look down. I'm suddenly standing on a 5 meter slope, thats almost vertical. I take a deep breath, bend my knees and jump! While I'm in the air I feed some more rope, so I can go down the slope as I jump. "Smile!" Sina says as she snaps a picture. In a few more jumps I hit the bottom - I can't wait for another go!
