Anzac Day is celebrated every year on the 25 of April.
This event is a tribute to all the New Zealand and Australian soldiers that got shot down by the Turkish in poppy fields in Gallipoli.
For each dead person, people planted a single poppy and there were enough poppies to fill two poppy fields.
Each one is a memorial to the brave soldiers who died on 1915.
Out of the 16130 New Zealanders and Australians who went to fight at Gallipoli 2701 New Zealand soldiers and 7594 Australian soldiers died.
The red poppy became a symbol of sacrifice after a World War I poem.

Excellent writing Joshua. It is very important we remember our past and what people did to secure the future of others. Do you know why they used poppies?
